私を温めたものは希望

When I hoped – I recollect

Just the place I stood –

At a Window facing West –

Roughest Air – was good –

 

私が希望を - 抱いた時に

立ってた所を思い出す - 

西に向いた窓のそばで - 　
荒い風さえ - 心地良い - 

Not a Sleet could bite me –

Not a frost could cool –

Hope it was that kept me warm –

Not Merino shawl –

みぞれも肌を噛まずに - 

霜も凍えさせなかった - 

私を温めたものは希望

メリノ肩掛けではなく - 

When I feared – I recollect

Just the Day it was –

Worlds were lying in the Sun –

Yet how Nature froze –

 

私が怖れを - 抱いたとき

正にその日を思い出す - 

陽の下世界は横たわり - 

自然はどこも凍えてた - 

Icicles upon my soul

Prickled Blue and Cool –

Bird went praising everywhere –

Only Me – was still –

私の魂の上にはつらら

青く冷たい刺となった - 

鳥は遍く讃歌を歌った - 
私一人が - 黙っていた - 

And the Day that I despaired –

This – if I forget

Nature will – that it be Night

After Sun has set –

そして私が絶望した日 - 

もしも - 私が忘れるなら

自然は - 太陽が沈んでも

夜が来るのを忘れる筈 - 

Darkness intersect her face –

And put out her eye –

Nature hesitate – before

Memory and I –

闇が自然の顔を横切り - 

自然の瞳を閉じさせる - 

自然も躊躇してしまう
記憶と私の - 目の前で -
