We send the Wave to find the Wave –

An Errand so divine,

The Messenger enamored too,

Forgetting to return,

波を探しに波を遣わせた―

とても神聖な使命だった，

We make the wise distinction still,

Soever made in vain,

The sagest time to dam the sea

is when the sea is gone –

我々は賢明な決定を下す，

たとえ徒労に終わっても，

潮を堰止める唯一の時は
